main axle for JD 24t baler

Anybody got a parts baler that you'd sell me the main axle from. Mine broke in two and fell to the ground while I was baling. By the break it looks like there wasn't much holding for some time. Probably not really repairable as the axle shaft is quite short and the break is right at the bearing race.

Depending on your balers SN there are 8 spindles at the Parts Dept but you must go through a participating dealer to get parts.

I did get it welded. If new parts are available then I'll go that route. I doubt the weld will hold long term but at least I got it back up to the house.

Get a rear axle bearing assembly and wheel + tire from a junkyard for a 80's GM X-Car. It ought to bolt right up after some creative modifications.
