Probably one of the banks that keep asking for a bail out .
We will all pay for it in the end!

First this is about the Returned check fee on a check deposited into a checking account.
It is not about the bank recovering the amount of a rubber check.
Returned checks fees are relateed to terms and activities of a checking account.
Returned Check fees apply only to checks deposited into the checking account.
If there is no check deposit involved with the checking account the bank can't charge the checking account a returned fee on a check that was never deposited.
If I have any doubt about a check being honered I always cash it instead of depositing it.
Have never had to pay a returned fee on a cashed check yet.

Are you saying that you can cash a bad check at your bank and they won't take the money out of your account when it bounces? How does the bank get their money back? A lot of crooked people would love to have a bank like that.

No I'm saying I don't to pay a returned check fee if i cash the check rather than deposit it.
Out of the money they gave me for the check.

Since I don't know your bank, I can't say you're mistaken, but
I'd sure be surprised to learn of a bank that didn't have a way of getting that money back from you.

I don't understand. Does this mean that the bank phones you up and asks you to return the money?

Whenever you open any kind of account at a bank, you sign an agreement that usually lets them debit any account you have at the bank in the event that you wind up owing them money for a transaction.

If I cashed a check at my bank and it bounced they would add a $3 return fee and debit my checking account for the amount of the check and the return fee. If my checking account was empty, they would debit my savings account and if that account was empty they would put my cd account on hold until I paid them. This is stated in the agreement form that you sign when you open your account.

You can bet the GE appliances are going to get full use of the warranty. In fact they have already been here to fix the microwave and fridge. And the fridge is giving trouble again, first the ice dispenser, now everything in the vegetable drawer is freezing, and the temp is set the way it should be.
