Have you tried lifting the front tires off of the ground with the loader? A month ago or so I was having some problems getting my 7520 in and out of 4x4 mode, lifted the front tires up with the bucket, went in and out without a problem. I then figured that something was putting a bind on the system. I checked air pressure in all the tires and found that they were a bit soft. Aired them all up to max pressure and wala, no more problems getting in and out of 4x4 mode. With the tires not being the proper inflation, the diameter was wrong and putting the system in a bind. Proper inflation took care of the problem for me.

This may not work for you, but it is simple to try.

Good luck.

Every once in a while, my 6520 needs me to drive straight forward, then stop to shift in or out. I don't engage or disengage with the wheels turned. If that does not work, try backing up, then disengaging.

Are you sure it is not an indication problem? At least with my backhoe and loader, I can raise all wheels and put it in 1st gear low range and lower the front enough to see if a tire will stop spinning as the axle tilts down on one side. I have done this as my 4WD indicator light is out.

You have an indicator light? LUCKY!

Mine was sticky the other day....I found if I put it in neutral and let it roll forward a bit it poped out of gear 4x4. Like it was bound up on the concrete?

Time before that I had mowed and a stick got in there and was binding the linkage.

Good Luck!

Part of the bells and whistles on the 20 series.;)
