Has anyone considered Mahindra Roxor for a farm Side By side? I would really like any feedback from any members that have considered or has one. I'm interested in purchasing one, but would certainly appreciate any feedback. Thanks so much!!

Cheers!!

Do a search, there are a few threads on them. Don't recall anyone here who has bought one however. They are not as utility-minded as a good UTV (no dump bed, limited cargo capability). More like a small jeep.

They are basically a older Jeep version. Most accessories from a CJ-5 on down will fit them. Except engine parts as they are a turbo diesel. The only advantage a side by side has is a dump bed on some and they can go faster over rough ground. Other than that the Roxor's are superior IMHO. No belt drive, a steel frame, 2 speed transfer case and thicker steel by far than what is in the new trucks & cars. The interior is Rhino lined so cleaning it up is a breeze. They are a different division of Mahindra than the tractor group. Mahindra started making Jeeps in 1947 and evidently still had the rights to make them. The precision Ag outfit I work a couple days a week sells them. I was all prepared to dismiss them until ours arrived. I had to reevaluate my opinion of them after playing around a bit with them. They are assembled in Michigan and already there are chips, tunes etc. for the engine. Supposedly they are coming out with a half cab. That's about all I know of them. If you have any more questions PM me and I'll get you a straight answer.

I looked at one and spoke in length to a salesman for the outfit that among other Ag lines is a Mahindra dealer.
Roxor is a Mahindra Jeep with a nice Turbo diesel or gas engine. Lots of accessories for the cab and front bumper. Comes in Military green or sand as well as couple other color options. Priced reasonable compared to any big tricked out UTV. I recall base unit starts at 12K without windshield or top. One I looked at had HVAC, winch bumper, light kit and canvas door / top was 20K.
On the other hand, IMHO, it is not street legal or meets any emission standards. If it is illegal to drive a UTV on roads where you are, then Roxor is not permitted.
With enough land to ride on, large ranch or farm, it would work well. Around small acreage or hunting camps would be over kill.
I Like It!!

I looked seriously at one earlier this year. Pricing is similar to a larger side by side ($15-18,000). The turbo diesel they use is seriously de-rated. An ECU flash can open up the top speed and add a lot more power. The Roxor is a stripped down version of the Mahindra THOR, which evolved from the CJ3 that Mahindra license-built for many years. The axles are DANA copies so CJ parts will drop right in. The Roxor is VERY basic, which means there is little to break on it. What it does have is also very solid and seems well built. The Roxor is no plastic wonder so it should stand up to sun bleaching and being out in the weather with few complaints.

The thing that held me back was that I wanted something I could license for street use (we can do that in Tennessee if it has certain equipment added). By the time you upgrade the Roxor it gets very close to lightly used Wrangler in price. In the end I decided that a side by side was a better fit for what we wanted. The Roxor is a nice machine though.

Mahindra is adding locking differentials and will offer a dump bed version very soon - That will fix the 2 shortcomings it has.
It also can tow 3000 lbs- something none of the SxS can do.

It's also very heavy as far as the scale of UTV's go.

It's a Jeep for all practical purposes.

If a Jeep CJ5-7 works for your applications, the Roxor would be fine.

I have to have a lighter UTV to traverse sandy, wet soil that a heavier vehicle would bog down and sink to the axles in.

Did go put hands on a Roxor at the local dealer, and it's a neat vehicle. Mahindra has been making them for many decades. They just haven't sold them here.

I'd love to have one, but can't justify the cost. The automatic starts at $20,000.

Ya you can buy an nice used Jeep and drive it on the road for less than what a Roxor costs.
