Hey guys,

Are there any links to buy Mahindra filters online at reasonable prices?

Thanks!

Sonnie, have you checked with NAPA to see if they have cross reference for your filters? NAPA has filters for lots of tractors. :)

I have ordered my filters and many parts from NewEnglandTractor.

There is a banner on there sight saying ordering parts on line coming soon,
but I have emailed them with a order for filters with Card info and they have them direct shipped to me direct from Mahindra.

You will find most Mahindra dealers will be happy to do the same thing. You could call them the first time and give them the mailing address and card information to keep on file .
But after that a email with a conformation request should get you what you want.

It's painfully clear that we need something like this. My nearest dealer is a two-hour drive away (each way) and ordering now / picking-up later means two full days pretty much shot to heck. On top of that, his ordering system is a 286 computer linked to Mahindra through a 1200 baud telephone modem... and he is out at the end of a rural telephone line with so much noise, all he can achieve is 120 baud. A typical parts ordering process there takes well over an hour if you are the only customer... multiple hours if there is a line or he makes a mistake. :( I always eat lunch before I arrrive and bring coffee and a good book. :( Trust me, I am not kidding. I wish I were.

I truly do want to support these few and widely spaced-out Mahindra dealerships... but I go out of my way right now to avoid them and buy elsewhere (or otherwise make do) just to save on wasted / down time. If Mahindra is ever to be a first class tractor company, we need a system from someone... anyone... to research and order parts on-line for fast, no-nonsense, direct-to-home delivery.

Any Mahindra dealer can order parts for you and have them drop shipped to your address. I'm sure myself or any other Mahindra dealer would be glad sell you filters. Due to the cost of shipping ordering a stock of filters for your tractor rather than 1 or 2 at a time would be cost adventagous. Your dealer could do this with just a phone call or I would be glad to help you if you would like.

Thanks Galen. I appreciate your interest. Filters are the (relatively) easy part for me. Certainly not inexpensive... but not my main parts-related concern either. And please don't read this as "dissing" my closest dealer. He is a great guy and doing his best. But his main concern is clearly selling new machines... for which I don't blame him... not in catering to guys buying a few spare parts here and there.

Here is where I am coming from: This tractor was a *huge* investment for me and I'm always looking for ways to improve, expand and maintain my machine in tip-top condition, functionally, mechanically and cosmetically. Reliability and a supply of appropriate on-site spares are critical to me. The problem is that I don't generally know the part names/numbers and their cost... approximate or otherwise... and that information is not easy to obtain. Since I am on a tight budget here, what I can do in any given month depends a lot on researching part and accessory prices and prioritizing all purchases.

I have tried calling Mahindra directly on certain items on which my dealer was shaky or otherwise unable to help and have just gotten the run around. Lacking a first class dealer operation right near my home, I'd really like to see a full-featured on-line parts ordering system or a dealership somewhere that catered to the on-line community.

Many such on-line options exist for my Harley? Why not for my Mahindra too? :)

I agree. Mahindra needs to allow customers to purchase parts without dealers. Seems to me Mahindra has the right idea about taking care of the dealers by selling parts through them, but they better not forget about the customer.

I assume one reason you can only order filters/parts through a dealer is to make sure the customer is getting the correct part.

Ordering through a dealer assures you that you are getting the correct part for your tractor and minimizes any hassle with their shipping dept. and the customer with returning parts. It also helps your local dealer stay in business so he can be there to support you with any issues that may arise.

That's nonsense. Unless Mahindra frequently changes their part numbers, the customer should not be required to verify its the same number every time he re-orders the same filter.

This requirement as stated ignores the needs of the customer and claims the convenience of Mahindra's shipping department is their most important corporate priority. Nonsense.

The customer will obviously go back to his dealer if he needs something unusual. But the present procedure forces him to go back needlesly.

Many products are sold through an exclusive-dealer model but not all tractors follow this model, and Mahindra's insistence on this may weaken their appeal as a brand.

Eventually I'm sure they will offer online parts, but currently they are in the process of switching a lot of other things online for dealers for us to be able to offer better support to the customers.

But for now customers can call us and we can look up parts online and have their correct part, price, etc. identified within a few minutes and schedule it to deliver straight to the customer. The same with filters except we keep them in stock at all times. Call us and order it and it's shipped out the same day.
