Yeh missisippiman,

 yup, no idea about the real world price...
There is an option in the mahindrausa web site wherein you can key -in ur area zipcode and lookin for nearest dealers details......

"The dealer should be able to help you out..."

Best of luck.....

that only gives the msrp. i want to know what people are paying in the real world.:)

hopefully there will be a dealer on here that can help me out. or at least someone that has purchased same.

Email a couple of your local dealers directly. I'd give you a quote, but 2500 miles would be a hefty freight bill. The 5525 is quite a bit cheaper, and they look like ths same tractor, except for the HP. A lot of tractor for the money.

I was looking at those on the Mahindra website yesterday, and thinking what a great second tractor one would make at a pretty good price.

that was the cash price. it is built very solid and is heavy. a good old fashioned style tractor.

I took delivery of a 5525 about four weeks ago. This tractor is to replace an aging AC D-15 ser.II. So far its been great. The only problem I've got with it is the hour meter is registering one hour every ten minutes of real time! The 250 loader is a bit heavier but otherwise comparable to the AC 400 loader in construction. The bucket at 6' is a little smaller than I'm used to and quick attach will be a new experience for me.

Man 1 hour for every 10 minutes, thats a little off. How does the transmission shift? I am curious about this 'partial constant mesh'. How partial is it?

Unless you are an old hand, you need to stop the tractor to shift gears: this is not a synchronized transmission. Partial constant mesh seems to mean that some of the gears are sliding gear shift where you move the gear itself and some are constant mesh-collar shift where the gears are always meshed and spinning freely on the shaft unless engaged by the collar which is splined to the shaft. The transmission on the 5525 shifts clean and easy. I think the collar shift gears have a slightly shorter throw.
