Looking to buy a Mahindra 4550 or 5555. Would like to know your experience with these tractors; looking for long term reliability. I am concerned with the Dual Stage Dry Clutch in the tractor and the reliability of the new Computer Controlled MCRD Engine.

1. Can you shift this tractor when moving?
2. Will the clutch hold up to loader work if utilizing low gears while pushing into a pile of dirt and off clutch? Alot of forward/back work for about a week to remove dirt
3. Parts availability
4. Mahindra honoring warranty claims

Thanks

Hi,

1. I have the 4540 and it's not made for shifting while the tractor is moving.
2. Ours is a 2016 with 732 hours on it, the clutch seems fine.
3. We haven't needed any parts except for a grease fitting I broke off, it took about two weeks but the dealer finally had them.
4. I haven't needed it yet but there are people who haven't had problems and people who have.

I have a 4550 with 140 hours on it. Only problem so far is I had a leak at the auxillary valve. The dealer repaired it, no problem. Tractor has great power but you cannot shift while moving. It does at times grind trying to shift gears. all in all I'm happy with it.
