What kind of price should I expect to encounter for a Mahindra 4110 w/FEL and R1 ag tires?

Around $18,500 with R4 tires in this area of NY, this price is 8 months old - steel prices have gone up since. could effect the price upward. It is a good and solid tractor -"if" and when I need a bigger Second tractor in the future I will look to Mahindra first because of the performance of the 4110 I own now.

Ron, is that with the 12X12 tranny?

What are the pros and cons of the Mahindra?

Yes, 12 x 12 tranny
Pros : It has done everything I needed it for. Post holes, manure handling/spreading, removing a hill from side of house and filling in a pond with the dirt, pushing over small trees (up to 8") , dragging logs for firewood. the tractor starts every day and the company & dealer back their product.
Cons : Some think it is a "Minor" brand, don't know about resale because I don't intend to sell, I have a habit of keeping things forever. but if the tractor new starts out 2-3 thousand cheaper than the big three then the used price should be slightly cheaper.
I have 435 hrs, its turning two in Jan. 05 with the warranty
up and I do not fear this because it is a quality tractor.
Like 95% tractors sold today, major parts or whole tractor are Foreign made ( That includes John Deere)

I paid around $18600 with Industrial tires. My loader had the standard bucket. It is extra to get one with skid steer compatible quick detatch ( around $600-800, I think ). I will be trading in my standard bucket for the quick detach type in about a week. If you think you will want pallet forks, or a seperate grapple bucket this is probably money well spent.
I was talking to the dealer yesterday, He said he had just sold the last of 7 4110's he ordered this fall. It was only on his lot 30 days. He's sold 49 tractors in the past wo years. The last two were delivered to buyers over 45 minutes away.

RONNY- Where in CNY are you? I am on the northern border with Canada. a little southeast of Cornwall. I bought mine from the dealer in Brushton NY

mboulais, I notice you have a Massey three bottom plow. What size is it, and how hard is it to plow using it with the Mahindra 4110? We have heavy clay soil, and I figured to match up a two bottom 14" if I go with the Mahindra.

So far the biggest complaint I have seen with this machine appears to center around the loader hydraulics being a bit slow. Does this tractor use a separate pump for the FEL, or is it plumbed to the tractor's hydraulics?

I haven't used them yet. I bought just a week before the frost started to settle in. I've had the tractor since May and I have no doubt I will be able to pull them easily. I have owned two antique tractors and drove two others growing up, The 4110 has alot of power compared to those. My plows are relalatively small. Each moldboard is only about 11" or 12" deep so they should pull easy. I don't think I'll even need four wheel drive. My soil is clay also with plenty of stones. I think a 14" two bottom would be easy to pull. As far as the slow hydraulics goes, I think people expect too much. If you want faster hydraulics the 4500 might give you what your looking for. I noticed on the spec sheet it doesn't use a seperate power steering pump. They put a larger hydraulic pump on the tractor and it does both. The 4110 uses a 7.8 gpm hyd. pump and a 3.8 or so steering pump. the 4500 uses a 11.5 gpm pump. as long as you are not lifting the bucket and turning at the same time you should be able to get more oil to the valve than it can pass to the loader. If you are turning, I would bet you still get more than 7 gpm to the loader. I am not dissapointed in the tractor in any way though.

I was kind of surprised when looking at the specs for the 4110 and the comparable models of other manufacturers. The Mahindra is heavier, and has a greater lift capacity for its 3pt hitch than others, and has some features that others do not have in its class and price range, like the synchro shuttle transmission and independent PTO.

I also like the specs on the Mahindra 4500, and wouldn't mind upgrading to that level of a machine, if it isn't too pricey.

30 miles South of Cooperstown, NY, dealer located outside Oneonta, NY. Have Visited Massena years ago, have fished the 1000 Islands and Lake Ontario for years. Lately don't have much time to fish like I used to.

Keith B -
Are you running a full time farm, or is it more for land upkeep/part time farming? I only have twenty acres, one horse, one goat, and some chickens. My decision was between the 3510 and 4110. I never looked at the 4500 specs until last week. I bought My tractor 7 months ago to replace an old international I had for a year. I do brush hogging , fence maintenance and hopefully I will be growing pumpkins to sell locally next year. I don't see much need for the larger 3pt lift capacity. If you are using ground engaging equipment that wieghs that much, I would guess you would want more hp.
