I have a 3505 Mahindra and never had any problems. This past fall after it had set unused for a couple months i got on it to
do some bushogging and when i pushed the pedal down to put it in gear the pedal would not retract. I was able to pull the pedal up by hand and it worked fine. Noticed it was hard to push down as well. I tried to grease the throw out bearing but found the fitting was clogged. Do you think the throwout bearing could cause the problem? I am going to replace the grease fitting and see if that is the problem. Just wondered if anyone else had a similar problem. Thanks

From what your describing I don't think the throw out bearing itself is the problem. If you can get to the tube that the throw out bearing slides on and just give it a good squirt of WD-40. I'm wondering if the grease on the tube has hardened or the tube has rusted then what your describing could happen and it's an easier fix than splitting the tractor to replace the throw out bearing. There's no unusual grinding or rumbling sounds when you press the clutch pedal? It could be that the linkages have rusted where they enter the clutch housing. Usually liberal WD-40 and working the clutch back and forth will cure that without disassembling the tractor. Good luck

I have a Mahindra 6500 4WD clutch pedal also sticking to floor, no grinding and I have to manually lift it.

Sprayed linkages with lubricant, there's on grease fitting for the clutch pedal linkage and I noticed grease only comes out one side, I tried heating it up because I thought maybe ice in linkage.

Tractor only has 325 hours on it.

Strange as it just started all of a sudden, perhaps a new spring?

Where is that tube located?

It is around the input shaft of the transmission and the throw out bearing slides on it. It's purpose is to keep the throw out bearing centered on the clutch release forks. It's in the clutch housing and hopefully you have an inspection hole somewhere in that vicinity.

pmsmechanic----thanks for the reply--i will give your advice a try. I spoke to a Mahindra mech. today and he suggested that i check the grease fitting to the throwout bearing--checked it and found it plugged so i will replace it tomorrow . Also have a brother in law mech. who suggested same as you so hopefully will get it working---will post back if i get it working. Thanks again for your prompt reply.

pmsmechanic----i finally got around to trying to get my clutch to unstick. When i initially had the problem it was the clutch pedal sticking in the down position and i could pull the pedal up and engage the clutch. Today i discovered the pressure plate is stuck and i cannot get it to disengage. Yes --i tried running it wide open and stomping the brakes to no avail. Do you know if there is an inspection plate for access to the pressure plate? There is a plate in front of the oil pan with four bolts--just a flat plate that is approx. 4 inches by 6 inches--would this give me access to the pressure plate? I think if i remove the starter i can get access so that i can spray some lubricant on the pressure plate.Wgat do you think?

I have never looked at a mahindra so I can't say if there is an inspection plate. I tried finding a parts diagram online and didn't have a whole lot of luck there either. In one diagram I think I saw the inspection plate you are talking about. All it will show is the opposite side of the flywheel that you want to see. Is there a chance that the flywheel housing would get water in it like during a rain? I've seen where clutches will literally glue them selves to the flywheel and the pressure plate if they get wet. If that's the case then you pretty well have to split the tractor to get access to the clutch. The other possibility is that the clutch release fingers are bent and not releasing the clutch. When you push the clutch pedal down does it feel the same as it always has?

pmsmechanic---yes the clutch feels normal when i depress it. When i stored it inside my shop for the winter the clutch was working but the pedal was sticking in the down position--but still disengage. I stored in my shop with the clutch in the down position and a week ago when i decided to take it outside---that was when i discovered the pressure had locked up and would not disengage. I read in the blogs several differant solutions to this and i plan to try a couple before giving up. One poster said you can get to the pressure plate by removing the starter then spray it down with brake cleaner. Thanks for your suggestions---will post back when and if i find a solution.
