Mahindra 2555 HST, John Deere 534, Minneapolis Moline UB, M5, Jet Star
I bought a used Mahindra 2555 HST tractor. I assumed the air, oil, fuel, hydrostat and hydraulic filters could be purchased locally at Tractor Supply or stores like NAPA. I was wrong. I can't even find anything but the air filter listed when I do a cross reference. Does anyone know who else makes and sells these filters? Thanks!

I have found that many sites like NAPA do not list all the filters they can cross reference. It might be well to write down all the numbers and actually go to a NAPA store.

By the way - - welcome to TBN and the forum. Keep the faith - you will find a place.

Thanks very much. This is a great forum. Lots of good info. I'll do that, like you said. So far, the cross references on many filter manufactures websites show nothing, but Fram did show an air filter element. I even wrote to several of the companies asking them why they don't offer filters for the Mahindra. So far, they haven't responded. Holidays I guess?

I just looked at WIX and they also give two cross references for air filters only. You may have to go ahead and get the hydraulic and oil filters at the dealer. I have found that in some instances the dealer is not that much higher than WIX but in some cases they are. I typically run OEM, Wix, or Baldwin. To me it's just easier to drop in at my dealer and get them and go.

Thanks Turbys_1700. I would think some of these major filter companies would make these. The Mahindra tractor is very popular and many have been sold in the USA. I think they are missing the boat by not offering these filters. I have a dealer around 10 miles away, so I'll go visit him. Thanks!

This morning, I received a message from Fram Filters. I had asked them if they had any plans to produce filters for the Mahindra tractors, especially the 2555 HST. Fram said as of now, they have no plans for this. That surprises me, but what do I know about the filter business. There could be some type of patent rights Mahindra holds on their filters that prevents other manufacturers from producing them, or just an economics reason.

My local auto parts dealer who used to be a NAPA dealer has a lookup tool and could get cross references for a couple of the filters as WIX but even WIX didn't have them all in their system yet but they advised they would soon.

Most importantly, make sure you get the right filter even if buying from a Mahindra dealer. There was recently an updated filter mandated to be used by Mahindra. I posted info on the filter update here:
https://www.tractorbynet.com/forums...ng/404779-mahindra-2555-2565-2655-2665-a.html

Two online sources for filters are:
OEM Tractor Parts | Bill's Tractor And Equipment
and
NEW ENGLAND TRACTOR a division of Johnson Automotive Inc.

There are also several dealers that will ship them to you if you call them to order. The filters aren't cheap. I recently purchased them a couple months ago for my 2655 HST (essentially the same tractor as your 2555) and here's what they cost at the dealer:
Engine Oil (the new part number) $26-ish
Hydraulic Filter $72-ish
Hydrostatic Filter $58-ish
Personally given the change interval of the hydraulic and hydrostatic filters I would just buy the Mahindra ones. I'm still undecided on the engine oil filter and might go Wix on that next time if they have them available.

You can get the fuel filter and air filters on Amazon or at other parts stores.
The fuel filter is a Bosch F 002 H22 025 or a Wix WF8277
The air filters are:
Outer Element - Wix 46489 or Fram CA9246
Inner Element - Wix 46490 or Fram CA9246SY

Thanks TractorNH. Very good info! This helps quite a bit. I had read the oil filter bulletin a few days ago. I just called my local Mahindra dealer and asked about the new filter number, if they had these. They didn't know a thing about it. I emailed the bulletin to him and he was going to call his Mahindra rep. I thought all the Mahindra filters were high priced until I talked with my brother, who owns a John Deere. He said the ones at the JD dealership were high also, but he can buy what he needs at NAPA and other stores, and save a few dollars. I just like having choices. As long as the filters are compatible and of the same quality, why not buy them, plus save some money.

Thanks 3gunr. I have seen that website before. I'll check their prices.
