Mahindra 2555 mainfunction indicator lamp issue and unknown oil leak

Hi all - I am new to the forum so thanks for letting me join and for the help ahead of time.

I have the Mahindra 2555 with about 34 hours on it (brand new) The I noticed a few weeks ago there was a small amount of liquid under it on the concrete inside my barn. I didnt think a lot about it as it was only about 4 inchs around. This weekend I went out and was about to work on the tractor and noticed an even larger amount on the ground now and malfunction indicator lamp is lit up. I have no clue how to even start figuring out what is wrong with it.

Any help would be great.

Hi everyone, my name is Brian & I live in GA. I just purchased a Mahindra 2565 about 3 weeks ago & have been working on my driveway some in the afternoons after work. Last Friday I went out & cranked the tractor, then after a 10 minute warm-up I jumped in the cab to go get a bale of hay for the horses & the MIL light was on. I only have used the tractor around 11 hours, & of course it was 5 minutes after the dealer closed! I went ahead & hayed the horses, the took the tractor back to the shed. I turned the engine off, & right back on & the light went out. I plan on calling the dealer tomorrow & will post back if I find anything out.

Hi and welcome to TBN! There's lots of info to be found here, so I highly recommend you read and absorb as much as you can about your tractor, as well as tractors in general. To quote Emil Faber "Knowledge is good".

That being said, if a cursory inspection does not reveal that the source of the leak is something simple and instantly remedied, contact your dealer immediately. Do not put this off!!! Explain what you are seeing and give them the opportunity to stand behind their product.

Got my first customer with this series tractor with the MIL light on and engine derate. Of course when it arrived the light was out and the engine was running fine. Spoke to my DSR about it. He said he has been seeing a lot of this. Customers are babying the tractor or letting it idle to long causing the EGR to soot up. Advice from him is to throttle up and don't let it idle to long.:thumbsup:

My MIL came on. Dealer had me turn the tractor on and run at idle for 3-5 min. (I picked 4) Turn off for 3-5 min. Repeat and he said on the 5th start the light should go out. It went out for me on the 4th start.

The light stayed off for the next couple of times that I ran it but my wife let it idle for 30 min or so while she was cleaning out the barn so now it is back on again. Apparently the new tier 4 engines like to be ran hard.

Got a 2225 cab unit in here right now that the MIL light was on. cycled the run 3X. light goes out. checked the codes. All EGR. Customer uses tractor to load salt. Lets it idle so the cab stays warm while hes spreading the salt. Thats a no no with these new engines.:thumbsup:

I got one for you folks.My 3540 premo Mahindra had an oil leak the day it was delivered and I fixed it myself.My first post on TBN was about this leak issue and how I fixed it.Now my light is on and want go off but it is not the MIL light its the headlight.When I turn the key on the headlight comes on and stays on no matter what I do with the tractor.No other lights burn during this time including the instrument cluster light and yes the light switch is in the off position.WTF is up with Mahindra tractors!

They lack fit and finish! It's a shame too, because they are otherwise VERY capable tractors.

You need to be more specific. Are you referring to the blue high beam indicator on the dash?What model is it HST ,Gear,Cab??
