Mahindra 2545 (shuttle) Cab, 53 Ford Jubalee
New to the group. I was having a hard time finding a thread where they talked about a Mahindra 2545. I would appreciate opinions on them. I was at a dealer today looking at a 2538. As I was talking to the salesman he said I have a 2545 that you can have for less. It was a loaner with 10 hrs on it...shuttle/loader/cab...$26,000. I have to pay cash. I'm thinking that's a lot of tractor for the money. More power...more flow...more breakout and heavier.
Decent dealer...30 miles away. Unless I'm missing something this seems good. I have looked at all the colors. I don't mind shifting at all. Is the clutch up to the task on these tractors? Are owners here happy with them? Am I correct in assuming that they don't offer a mid PTO and they have no rear remote. I want to run a grapple and a small round baler. Anything that you have to say will be appreciated.

I can't compare apples to apples here, but I just got a 2638 last week. Cash price offered by the dealer was 29*** it was a HST, Cab,Loader. Maybe could have gotten to 29 flat, but I don't think he was going to go down a ton more.

I have found some threads with people who own the 2538, they seem happy and it seems to be one of the more reliable models from what I can tell. I think they are made in S. Korea.

I had to add rear spools onto the back, and for a 3rd function, the OEM Mahindra one doesn't allow you to curl when using grapple or other 3rd function piece. You can get an aftermarket one that will allow for a true 3rd function though.

Hopefully some people who actually own that model chime in. Good luck!

Thanks for the reply. I think I am OK with that price. It has 10 hours....but that is nothing. I wanted the 2638 but this became available. I just don't want to "miss" something.

Lee, I have a 2538 with 980 hours on it. No problems at all, except for a software update to the computer. (I think I gained 5 hp after the update)

In looking at the 2545 online at the Mahindra site, it sure looks like the same tractor as mine, only with more horsepower (and the shuttle shift). It has the same tires, same dash, same loader (bucket may be bigger, not sure).

And you're getting a cab to boot! I say go for it!!! (Be sure it has the latest software update before you take it home)

Thanks for the reply. You know how it is. You beat yourself up about is it the right choice. I looked at the 2538 sitting right next to the 2545. Same tractor except it has a little more power. The thing is , the 2538 was $4,000 more. I think what worries me more is the dealer support and availability of parts. Thanks for the heads up regarding the software update.

Mahindra has a big warehouse in TX that my dealer gets their stuff shipped from. I'm in Western MA. They said 3-4 days usually on parts. Sometimes a week. I'm not a commercial farmer or anything, so 90% of the time a little delay wouldn't affect me at all. I would think you being next door, you'd have similar part shipment times. I cannot comment to your dealers ability though.

That is good news. Someone else mentioned that they had a large distribution center in Texas. I'm not commercial either. Just retired with a few horses. I didn't want to wait weeks or months though.
