Mahindra 1526 HST (2016)

Looking for guidance on troubleshooting why my 1526 has no dash lights, no electrical power to lights, wont start or crank just dead. I have checked all the fuses and in line breakers all good. I have checked all the safety switches all good. I have removed the dash board and I do have 12.64 VDC at the back of the ignition switch. The 4 relays which I thing are the glow plug relays will make a sizzling sound if the tractor has been sitting when I first try to key the ignition and there there is nothing again.

This just happened out of the blue, I parked it Thursday night, it did rain a bit but then on Friday nothing.

Any suggestions would be helpful.

Bad ignition switch

I decided to go back for a 3rd time and check the basics. What drove me to do that was when I tried to arc start the tractor my spark was weak almost non existent instead of the blast you would normally get when arcing a starter. So I went to the ground all my connection points were clean.

I decided to pull the ground completely out and look at the wire under the connectors.As you will see in the pictures the wires don't look too bad however these is a small amount of corrosion at the connection point which is hiding under the connector. I went ahead and replaced the entire ground wire and lugs and bingo. Everything is functional again.

The very odd part was I had voltage in all the places you would expect to have voltage.. However due to the lack of good ground (ie closing the circuit ) there as not enough load to provide the amps needed for anything to work. So although things may look ok on the surface sometimes you can still have internal corrosion that is killing the connection.

Good job finding the issue.

I have had couple friends replace batteries in their vehicles and they start right up and all is good and then call me asking for a jump, they say everything works but no starting, I go to help and the 1st thing I do is check the positive and negative and both times it痴 just taken a turn of the wrench to tighten up the cables a bit more and the starter works fine. I then let them know if the start doesn稚 get that 12.5 volts it needs it will just click or do nothing where as everything else will work, my street rod had a bad ground on the block which caused a no start, it took me awhile to figure that one out. A bad ground can really create a headache.
