Hey Guys, just found Page 1 and wanted sume feedback and opinions. Anyone had any bad experiences with magnum since Bradco took over? Chipped teeth? bad balance? This may be the best of both worlds kinda a gyro-timber-mulcher. whadayathink?

Oh BTW decided on the RC100 w/ASV forestry pkg and Mag head(dealer had good deal) and will take possession(sp) MONDAY!!!!!!!!:D Been a long time waiting and will be a long weekend:( Oh well more time to find work!
We've (TBers) done enough talk about what machine is best now time to start the "best ways to keep mulcher busy" thread ...any takers?

Congratulations!

I thought about manufacturing some cutting teeth to try on the Fecon, maybe I'll have some time this winter to test some out...

Interesting idea.

Thanks Scott! It is a long weekend with a LOT of time to think this over. Did I make correct choice? will I find enough work to repay my savings? hope it will all come together.
Kendall- total package $86500 from Mauldin Tractor Hattisburg, MS they are local ASV/ New Holland Dealer. Heard their service is less than desireable but price was not too bad. I prefer to keep money as local as possible and did not want to get into trouble with tax man. although I heard GA is tax exempt for Ag. This dealer said it would be const not Ag here though:(
Local Vermeer wanted almost 2K more and had Fecon head so I went for the Mag with the rexroth motor (it even says Bradco) w/double sided teeth. They may not last any longer but they will be already paid for!:)

Only kicker may be the insurance on the loan. Seems kinda high but dealer said it was "normal" Guess they gotta getcha somewhere...

QuickDraw- If you get into the mulcher dentistry business let us know! discounts for TBN?:D

Thanks for all yalls support. Cant wait!
Where are all the marketing secrects? gotta have something to keep my mind going!

UPDATE: 1st day on new RC100
Well guys it rained hard for most of afternoon so I only got @2 hours on it so far. Power is excellent and way more than my 257 CAT. Did not take too much to get used to. The 2 speed is great for getting from tree to tree:D
Windows kept foggin up due to the humidity. Kept having to stop and wipe door glass also. chips kept sticking. I will get some anti-fog for glass tomorrow. Has anyone had problems such as scratches ever from the head throwing stuff back?
MAGNUM- This cutter is amazing! and it has only been 2 hours. I did manage to clog it a few time but i was testing the limits I think. I hope the teeth stay this sharp for a LONG time! I still need a lot of practice before I get "skilled" enough to know the difference in the head cutting positions and all the tricks. All in due time though. The head did have verry quick recovery time, aprox 3-5 sec. I was impressed. hope to have some pics soon!
BTW hows business?

Hey dirty, congrates on your new baby. It is a beast isn't it.

One trick for the windows is where a second shirt and turn on the A/C.

You better get efficent quick, those teeth have already begun to wear. They will dull long before your ready for them to.

I'm in the thickest crap I've mulched yet. It's so thick I had to turn on the lights in the middle of the day.

Some bad news, broke the planitaries in my transmission on my truck Monday. 3k plus. That sucks!! Working for free this week per say. Robbie

hey Robbie, are you still charging by the hour or by the job? I know we discussed what the going rate was for GA, but just curios. I could spend a lot of time making little chips out of big chips. I know all customers are different but I want all the results to look like the "park". Are some customer just glad to get the stuff knocked down ? do they ever express how they want it to look? just a quick mow? I still do not want to scare anybody away so I just tell them it starts @$0.02 a square foot and goes up depending on what they want ie raked, piled u , clean around every tree by hand etc. I guess it all depends on what your market will allow.
All RC100 mulchers, have you ever figure your actual cost to run machine per hour? how do I know how many hours average I will mulch per month/year? I figure 75 hr per month? is this unrealistic? Cost of Deisel is not going down:(
