Stopped by Tazewell on the way to Canada a couple of weeks ago.
Sales guy Chris was out, so Terry gave me the test rides on the machines.

Well made and very practical for what I need in hilly Tenn. What a machinery showroom. They build everything themselves from the hydraulic cylinders up to and including the building ! Definitely a workinman's candy store! holy smokes

Terry is a sharp guy, and a very nice human being. It would appear he is the indispensible link in the sales and service chain. Without Terry (or his presumed clone) they would have a tough time marketing these machines to an everyday guy, even a very handy guy. It takes a certain amount of "stepping out in faith" to purchase a machine with no dealer/distributor network. Terry has to be able to decipher the incoming tech questions, make the diagnosis, and then return an answer in a language that the average guy can understand, and not in some trade specific jargon known only to those who work in the hydraulics world. This is a gift Terry has and I guess what makes marketing these machines possible....the promise of Terry always at the other end of the phone!!

Impressive operation. Simple, solid stuff from what I could see. Not every attachment is a "10", but enough of a selection to do a lot of jobs and the rest you can buy somewhere else and adapt to the PT with a QA plate.

Terry qualifies as "good people" in my book.

Overall, Power-Trac Inc. and Power-Trac machines have some warts and rough spots. If they fit your needs, the warts aren't very important.

They fit my needs.

I have to disagree that it isn't very important. The "warts" on Power Trac make the difference between my PT being a piece of equipment that "fits my needs" and the best piece of equipment I have ever owned. To me that is important.

Terry is a nice guy, though, and is knowledgable, agreed.

I was on my motorcycle on the way to Canada. I couldn't figure out how to rearrange my gear to get the PT and all the attachments on the bike to take them too..... So decided to have them truck it down to TN !!!!

Trying to decide which unit and what attachments to get and figuring out the power to weight for the different machines. I'm sold on the machines though. It's exactly what I need, very impressed with maneuverability and the quick attach is clever device.

The 425 is hauling 55lbs per HP and the 1430 is hauling 85 lbs per HP with no attachments. Even figuring the Diesel's extra torque its an interesting set of numbers to compare. Obviously different machines... I need one of each !
