I just backed up and broke the threaded piece of the left hand leveling assembly on the 3pt hitch.

It looks like it's Kubota part number 3C081-91470

But it's $200 and I was hoping to get one today.

Anyone know if I there is an aftermarket compatible piece out there? Hoping it's a pretty standard.

Thanks,

Joe

TSC or other farm type store may get you going today. For that price, I'd look into an after market leveling box.

That will almost certainly be a Kubota only part and your dealer will need to order it on Monday.

That said, a GOOD welder/fabricator could likely repair yours.

Bummer.

You would lose the adjustable part but yeah, a welding shop could put it back together.

There's gotta be more to the story than "I just backed up". ;)

I think I would attempt to remove roll(spring) pin & have a machine shop make a rod then R&R only rod.

A little more (;-) to the story. I had a rake on the back and was manuvering where I shouldn't have been, after doing it for too long, and backed up so 1 side of the rake hit a tree. Not fun.

I thought about welding it (bad welder suffice) but it looks like the rod is cast. I could easily be wrong about that. I'll give it a shot.

I tried to unscrew if from the top piece (not the side with the spring clip) and it would not come out. Is it supposed to be able to unscrew all the way out?

Not clear on how I would use an aftermarket leveling box. Any link to how I would know what would fit?

Thanks everyone!

Okay, you guys inspired me.

Here's the fix -- hope it holds.

I hope it works too.

I would have welded it hotter. I would have ran my beads the length of the rod overlapping them onto the last one until I had surrounded the rod with welder bead.

Thanks for starting the thread. Someone will make this mistake just as you did and search for a solution.

There is the possibility of a local machine shop could make you one for less than Kubota's. Bust a light on my L last week, right at $140 for it. I could have bought four of standard lights for that price. Them being LED's at that, Kubota's are not.

Thank you so much for the analysis and suggestions. I am not at all an experienced welder.

I used a Hobart 140 mig welder with the highest/hottest setting of 5. I could have used the arc welder, but I am better with the mig. I knew enough to know the material was quite thick so I tried to get in deep with each bead (I ran multiple, overlapping beads).

But I hadn't even thought of running the beads lengthwise along the rod.

If it breaks, we can do a cross section analysis and see what went right and what went wrong.

Thanks!
