Anybody rigged up something for an aftermarket muffler for an M9000 yet? I've had to put an elbow right where the pipe exits the muffler but it looks like more surgery or a whole muffler is in the works. Don't even want to think what the dealer wants for one. What have you done to replace the termite-prone muffler?

What about just straight piping it?

Noise, hearing loss, employees accusing me of being cheap. :) Often gets used at pto speed under load. Mufflers are a good thing. I use ear plugs at pto speed as it is now.

But it would sound so good at rpm under a good load. Just joking, i understand what you mean about being too loud.
How about using a generic tractor muffler inline in the stack, most tractor supply or similair stores carry them?

Thought of that but the stock stack vibrates a lot without the weight of the verticle pipe holding a muffler. Not saying it won't work, but I was wondering if anybody had tried it or found one that would mount and work under the hood with just the pipe sticking up like the stocker.

You're probably right about the extra weight, after a lot of bouncing/vibrating it might cause a crack/break somewhere. Do you have a picture of how the exhaust is set up now?

No pix at the moment. It is working about a 30-40 min drive from here and I'm spraying day and night. I'm posting via Android between tanks. Just trying to get ideas before Monday.

Just out of Curiosity did you figure something out because I am in your shoes right now and a new exhaust is $473.00

The last time the OP contributed to the forum was back in 2015, so it might be a long shot if they respond.

I'm still on the net and get email notifications, just haven't visited here in a while. If I remember which tractor that was ( I have 2 9000s that each needed muffler work), I went with a piece of pipe from a muffler shop off the exhaust side of the muffler in the short term and then replaced the whole thing with a factory muffler shortly thereafter. It would've been a lot of custom work ($$$) at a muffler shop to get anything generic to work decently, so it made more sense to just go with the factory one even though it wasn't exactly cheap.
