Tires M7060 & rear wheel offsets

I have a question for you guys who have a M7060 and changed the rear wheels to get the tires further out:

My new M7060 arrived and I ordered cast wheels and a set of wheel weights. Someone had posted a picture of their M7060 with the outer wheel/tire moved to the outside of the cast center and that was what I was intending on doing with mine:





However, now that the machine is here from the factory, if you look at those ears that mount the inner to the outer wheels, it has a raised boss where the carriage bolt heads go into and that side of the ear isnt completely flat. If a person was to do the setup in the picture above, the ear that the bolts go to, would not be completely flat against the inner wheel. (I know this isnt easy to convey without more pictures) You guys who have cast centers and moved your tires out, how did you go about it and get it done?

My 2009 Kubota M6040 has Ag rims. This means there are eight different offsets. It's hard to believe that there isn't SOME way to get the same with cast wheels.

BTW - I know exactly what you are speaking about regarding the offsets.

I think it's time to have a discussion with the service manager at the dealership.

I'm not exactly sure what you mean but you can switch the rims from one side to the other, as well as reversed, to make it wider. The owner's manual has a sketch of each position.

My owners manual has drawings of the eight positions. I will attempt to verbalize these positions.
Position #1 - center dished out - tabs on center in the inner position - tabs on rim in the inner portion
Position #2 - center dished out - tabs on center in the inner position - tabs on rim in the outer position
Position #3 - center dished out - tabs on center in the outer position - tabs on rim in the inner position
Position #4 - center dished out - tabs on center in the outer position - tabs on rim in the outer position
Position #5 - center dished in - tabs on center in the inner position - tabs on rim in the inner position
Position #6 - center dished in - tabs on center in the inner position - tabs on rim in the outer position
Position #7 - center dished in - tabs on center in the outer position - tabs on rim in the inner position
Position #8 - center dished in - tabs on center in the outer position - tabs on rim in the outer position.

It's all about row crop farming. My rear tires are currently set in Position #3. Next to the widest setting... Position #4 being the very widest setting. Position #5 being the very narrowest setting. All these eight setting are available on the front tires also. My front tires are currently in Position #6. About as close to a "neutral" setting as possible.

I looked on page 62 and it only shows the steel wheel, not the cast center.

I have one M7040--same as M7060--set up for crops on a 30" row center. Outer wheels are one notch off narrowest for a 60" tread center and front is set so the inside edge of the tire matches the inside edge of the rear tire. I think I have the Kubota owner's manual that mentions cast centers and I'll look for it.

Yes, TexasBoy. That's the picture in my Op Manual. The rest of the picture is with the centers dished inward - making the last four positions.

I just checked - for whatever reason, my M6040 Op Manual is silent regarding cast centers. It does say you can add up to 320# per rear wheel with wheel weights.

It could well be, I guess, that cast centers simply do not offer the offset positions.

As I look closely at the pic you posted TB - that appears to be in about the most "outward" position possible. The centers are dished out - the rim tabs are in the inward position( making more of the rim stick out) and the rim tabs are attached to the outside of the cast centers. I don't really see how it could be in a wider stance. But pics can be deceiving.

I understand what you mean about the "dimples on the rim tabs". My rim tabs have no dimples. Just a square hole that the carriage bolt tabs into. This ensures a "flat fit" whether the rim tab is inside or outside the center disk.

I wonder if you might have to get "wheel spacers" to get those out wider. I'm sure your dealer can enlighten. This is how my rears are set.

You are exactly right, the steel wheels have a flat surface on both sides of the rim tab so putting the tire on the outside is no problem. I have no idea why the cast setup is different. My dealer is gonna get the tires off and we are gonna see what we can do. Im gonna run over there and take some close up pics.
