Bought this tractor used late in the year 2013. Only used the FEL over the winter, but now have used the 3pt some, and the rear remotes...not working to my liking.

I have 2 rear remotes, both in use with TNT. The first remote, operates the tilt cylinder, and it is smooth, no detents, but .... it is FAST. I thought I wouldn't have issues with that, but it's so fast, difficult to control. It has no quick connects, hose screwed direct to the valve. Let go of the handle, and it goes to neutral.

The 2nd remote operates the top cylinder. And this one I'm having the most trouble with. The valve seems to have 3 speeds to it. The first is a very slow creep, and there seems to be a very small detent at the end of it. Pass the detent, it gets a little faster and a very large detent at the end of that cycle. Past the last detent, it goes full speed, and the handle hangs full open, then pops back to neutral with the cylinder reaches the full extent.

Two very different operating manners with this valves. I can maybe live with the first remote, but the second one is very aggravating in operation.

What kind of valve do I have and can the 2nd valve be changed in how it works?

Sounds like you need some flow restrictors and a new valve. The valve that is giving you the most problems sounds like it should be considered an implement type of valve and used for those situations. Very odd that you have no QDs, probably someone trying to save a few $$. :(

I would get a 3rd valve with the float function, QDs for all 3 valves and flow restrictors for the T&T set.

Good luck.

QD's or lack of won't affect operation of rear remotes but it's odd your tractor has no rear QD's. I agree that you need to install some flow restrictors either adjustable or disc.

This is the second Kubota that I have read about not having any QDs. Although, now that I think about it, this might be the same tractor. :confused3:

The second valve sounds like a self canceling detent valve. I use one for the scarfieres on my box scrapper it functions the same way. Super slow or stupid fast . I have no issues because they are either up or down nothing in the middle. The first valve is probably a float detent mine is not too fast with a 3" cylinder for my toplink. A new value is about $600. I think it was $750 for valve and lever

I need to clarify....the first remote has NO QDs on it, which operates the side link. The second remote does have QDs...but....I posted on another thread about these QDs, and their length. See pic below for the QD, and no QD on first valve.. I'm wondering....are flow restrictions in this QD? What design traits are in this QD which makes it so long?

I'd like to put, what I think of as standard QDs, which are short and to the point, on BOTH valves.

The first detent on the 2nd valve is kind of normal, the 2nd detent, is hard....and a major part of the operating problem. Almost have to knock it through that 2nd detent. I hate the thought of replacing any valves do to $$$$$. I'm wanting to put a grapple on this tractor with a diverter valve, and retirement has just so many dollars. May put the top tilt on the first valve since I don't use the side tilt as much.

Options for flow restrictions, can these be put on the hose side, so if you disconnect and connect something else you don't have the restriction. What do flow restrictions look like?

no restriction, suppose to keep cyclinder from bleeding back. I might not be explaining right but it tells about it manual

Typically, Kubota tractors come with one remote and the second or third are add-ons by the dealer.

There are different acting remotes, so probably the dealer put on something different.

Action may also vary with the direction of the connection. Reverse the connection and you might change how the action is. I know when I bought my M9540, they discussed the add on valves and what kind of action I needed (for a batwing Bush Hog). My second and third valves are different from the first valve (factory installed).

You might be able to get your dealer to swap out the second valve if it is the wrong action for your needs. OTOH, it might be the right action for other implements you might use.

The Kubota factory QD allows for plugging/unplugging hoses merely by pushing in on hose to plug-in and pulling out on hose to unplug. Not all QD's operate in this fashion. On some QD's one has to move collar with one hand while plugging in hose with other hand. This may explain the extra length you were asking about.

Exactly. ;)
