It's time for the 50 hour service in my M4900 2WD gear drive.
I went to NAPA today and bought 2 gallons of Shell Rotella 10W-30. Hopefully no problems there.
NAPA had one tranny/hydro fluid that was Kubota UDT rated BUT only in $10/gallon containers.
They did have another one which was rated for Deere and just about every other tractor manufacturer. This was $41/5 gallons. So I bought it...
My guess is it will be just fine... How different can a gear drive be from Deere to Kubota? My loader is a Bush Hog brand and I am sure that this fluid will be fine.
I know in the most IDEAL of circumstances UDT would be used, but I just don't see the big deal with my decision. IF I had a hydro I would see the point.
Thoughts?
