m4800??????????

hey fellas.i am in a quandry.i need a tractor in the 50 hp engine and 44 pto range.i like the m4800.i am mostly concerned with reliability and durability.is this a good tractor?i have driven one and like it,just don't want to make an expensive mistake.i will be comparing it to a john deere 5103.which is the most durable/reliable?

I have a M4900 , a cousin to the M4800 that is by far the best tractor I have ever owned. -0- problems and -0- complaints in three years. A neighbor bought a M4800 about a year ago and has had the same experience in the short time he's had it. Kubota makes a fine utility tractor.

The City of Jasper, TX has several M5XXX tractors that they use for bush hogging. As you can imagine, the city employees are not quite as careful with them as you or I would be with our personal equipment.

To my knowledge the only problems they have ever had were damage to the tractors when somebody hit something.

BTW, they have "home built" FOPS (Falling Object Protection Systems on some of them that look something I built, and I am not a welder! Not pretty but seem to be pretty functional.

As far as which is most durable I suspect that would be about like asking "Which is more durable, Ford or Chevrolet". I don't see where you could go wrong with either brand.

I bought a m4800 in feb. I love it i think for the money you cant beat it . I would get the tires loaded the loader has more power than the weight of the tractor even with a 6 ft box blade on the rear.
