Hey all,
My mother in law got a new bush hog recently and we're trying to figure out where to start the bush hog.
I know it needs to be 2295rpm to run at the required 540rpm for the PTO and we're aware it needs to be lowered to start. What is the recommended rpm to start the PTO? The manual just says lower it but how much? We tried to start it at the minimum of the orange bar (on the rpm gauge) which I think is 1500rpm(?) it seems to really engage hard. What does everyone recommend? Kubota 4700s

I don’t t think there is a specific minimum. Personally I typically idle the tractor before engaging the pro then add power after it’s engaged. I don’t know if you have an ePto and if so is it different in any way.

Have not used my bush hog for several years but on m M4700 I usually engaged it out on an area of low resistance at a little above idle RPM then cranked it up and drove it into the taller stuff.
