Comparison LX277 or New D130

Seen some comparisons of other models, curious to see how this one goes. Looking at the dealer I could get a 11 year old LX277 with freedom 42 deck or a brand new D130 with 2 year warranty. Which would you suggest, new with warranty or heavier but older? They are both about the same price.

Personally, I would buy the older one if it is in good shape. A few years ago, I bought a 1994 LX176, it has served me faithfully ever since. Had to replace the main drive belt, but otherwise flawless. The D models are built to meet a price point at the big box stores like Home Depot and Lowes. In general, they are the successors to the Scotts line from several years back. Most folks I've seen post have recommended staying with the ones that JD does not sell at the big box stores. HTH.
