I am considering using Lucas Hub Oil in the 4WD front-end of my 3110d at my next oil change. Just curious if anyone has tried the Hub oil and their pro and con experience and/or thoughts.
Thanks for your input.

I haven't seen Hub Oil ,but have used the Lucas oil additive for a long time. One of my importers adds it full strength to leaking front ends. It usually stops the leaks.
I haven't used their products. I rely on good quality PAO synthetic oil . If you haven't replaced the seals in your front end with new ones, Don't try synthetic gear oil
Down to my lovable little red Mahindra with FEL, and backhoe.
You might look at this link. I post it somewhat reluctantly, as I took some heat, including some nasty personal messages, for suggesting hub oil. But, as far as I'm concerned it works when you have leaky seals.

I agree with Kenmac. Sometimes older seals and mechanical parts don't like syn stuff too much. It has a high TBN content but maybe too thin for the older parts/seals. If it wasn't using syn right after breakin, why use it now? I"d stick with the recommended oil in the user/manual guide ... do you have/need that info?
Also, as Kaysupply said, if used to stop leaks, I don't know, maybe worth a try if used successfully in the past.. g'luck.
Thanks for the response. Knute, some folks believe if you don’t agree with them that they have the right to start throwing personal insults. Most of the Yanmars we are discussing were manufactured 25 or more years back and lubricants have evolved dramatically. I am going to give the Hub oil a try.
