I have an opportunity to buy one or the other. LT133 is 10 years old, well maintained, looks new, has mulching kit. Original owner, maybe 200 hours. Only used for mowing/mulching. LT150 is 4 years old, only used last season. Owner cleaned tank, replaced one part, and just put a new tire. Pricing is close, so primary concern is reliability. Not a gear-head, so if something stops working, it's a fairly big deal of getting it to a shop (no trailer, so I pay for that too).

I was told by the LT133 owner that the LT150 is unreliable. Has reputation for transmission issues, while LT133 is manual and simpler and more reliable. But I google it and don't see it as so obvious.

I have just under an acre of property. Bumpy, and small incline.

What's the advice out there? :confused2:

I have a LT180. Same transmission as the LT150. Mine transmission went out at ~400 hours. Now have 700 on it and still working good. It is the k46 tuff-torq transmission that is not the best, but should be good for a couple hundred hours. What are the hours on the 150? Try it on a slope (backing up is where it seems to lose it's power first) to see if the k46 is going bad.

The LT150 was only used by a resident in a trailer park for 1 season, so can't have many hours on it. He says he is selling it because it's bigger than he needs. So on the one hand, not much use, on the other hand, not proven.

Thanks for advice about backing up on a slope.
