LS R4020 - John Deere 5045E
Driving around moving dirt I suddenly heard a grinding noise at the fan blades. Now that I have the radiator off I found the fan is hitting the shroud enough to stop the fan on the right side. I cant find any reason for this cause I checked everything including the water pump and even checked for frame movement. The shroud seems fine but it will not clear the fan.

Check the frame just in front or around the area your loader mounts to. Other model tractors have cracked the frame. The factory has had dealers replace the frame on some tractors and beefed up the loader mounting plates to the frame.

Thanks for your reply.I did check the entire frame and can't find any cracks or loose bolts. I did find 1 bolt missing on the frame holding the loader but replaced it and no difference. All my measurements of the frame and loader come up the same and nothing seems to have shifted.

Time for a dealer service call.
