LS XR4150 Hydro losing RPM and hp

My LS XR4050 Hdro sometimes losses RPM and power. I'm right at 285 hrs.

Mostly this happens when I'm using the chisel plow (7 tine).Now i have used the chisel plow and had no problems for the past couple of months. I run it at about 2600-2800 RPMs in first gear and its working hard but doing the job. The other day I was using it and in the midst of working the RPMs dropped off and power went away. Its not over heating, no warning lights and its not bogging down the RPMs drop. Went out this AM did some more this time using the draft control, chiseling shallower then I normally do and seemed to be working good for about 15 minutes. I stopped and put some fuel in went back to finish and it started to do it again.

So I slowed down a bit and by modulating the forward pedal I can ease up a bit when the RPMs start to drop and keep it going. Even going back to my shop the tractor's RPMs dropped going up a hill I go up every day driving just the same as always 2200 RPM in 2nd.

I've called the dealer and he had no answers but to drop a couple of tines. I'm thinking its something else because I have used it before,much harder then today and not had a problem.

Any thoughts?

If it were mine, the first thing I would check is fuel flow.

At 285 hours have you replaced your fuel filters yet. Also,the air filters.

Yeah, the dealer thought so too, so sent me a fuel filter. Its changed, I'll run it this evening to see if that did it.

Fuel filter would have been my first thought too. Diesel engine act normal till you loads them when the filter is plugged.

Replaced fuel filter and still having problems. Changing hydro, oil all filters tomorrow.

Hope I haven't screwed something up but,when checking hydro fluid is tractor running or off. I reread my book on this and it is not clear. It says to start it up and run it to warm it up, but it does not say to turn off engine nor does it say to leave it running. (like an automatic transmission). i have always checked it with engine off.

Did you change both filters on your 4150 or does it only have one fuel filter? My LS has two, a pre filter and the main filter.

I check hydro fluid level with the engine off.

Does your tractor have a low pressure fuel pump that supplies fuel from the tank to the injection pump or is it gravity feed?

Check the fluid with the engine off. Does it feel like the transmission is "slipping" or the engine is loosing power?

Changed filters last night but no time to run it till tonight or tomorrow am. definitely not slipping,losing power/rpm. The rpms just dive.

Have you disconnected the fuel line to see the flow.
The tank could be clogged.
