Not just the hydraulic pump. The loader on that Kioti vs that LS... The Kioti lifts more weight almost a foot higher. More strength, more reach, more pallet lift ability. The geometry of the bucket cylinders also allows for more curl strength on that Kioti loader vs the LS.
The HST on the Kioti also has "auto throttle" which increases engine speed AND travel speed when u depress the foot pedals. That's a nice feature which i love on my Massey. There are other "nicer" features on the Kioti too compared to the LS.
The LS is a nice tractor, but it's very "raw" compared to the Kioti, and lacking in loader compared to the Kioti
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I think a lot of a tractor buying decision really comes down to what you rank highest on your purchase features list, if you have any "must have" features/capabilities, what you want to spend, and what you plan to do with it. I bought an LS XR4155HC and overall I'm very happy with my purchase, here's my reasoning:
- LS honestly seems to offer the most "bang for your buck". Yes it may not have all the "nicer" features/options but I'm a homeowner working on a budget, if I was writing my tractor off for a business I'd have a different take and probably a very specific planned use.
- Setting my limit at the $30k mark meant I'd probably have to step down in frame size or go without a cab if I went the Kioti/Kubota route, neither option was acceptable to me. I wanted decent lift capacity and a cab.
- You still get a fair number of what other makes call "options" - multiple rear remotes (2-3), outside the cab raise/lower of the 3 point, quick adjustable 3 point links, draft control, etc.
- A $5,000 savings can buy a lot of implements!
- It's a definite plus to have a competent dealer close by for service work, questions, or parts.
- Responses to Kioti features mentioned above:
1. I don't need the auto-throttle mentioned above, I just set my throttle for the work I'm doing and go about my merry way. So I run at a little higher RPM during idle times, it's as easy as adjusting the throttle level or just leaving it be. These things don't drink diesel fuel very fast in my opinion.
2. Yes, the Kioti lift height is greater and that could be an absolute decision maker for some, but I'm not double stacking round bales on a trailer nor do I need to make dirt/snow piles any taller than I already do.
3. Loader speed - honestly I thought it was going to take longer than it did to get used to running a loader. Now that I feel I'm fluent this I would say that I feel the LS loader is on the slow side. That said, while I'd "like" a faster loader I definitely don't "need" a faster loader for personal use. I'd rather enjoy the air conditioned cab during summer use and heated cab during winter use
I'd say make sure to test drive them both, but I don't think you'll be able to get a solid understanding until you've actually been able to use it for work purposes... Best of luck on your hunt!
