According to my owners manual the book icon function is not used. Neither are the clock, 4x4, quick turn, one side brake, EHL, Hyd. oil pressure and fwd/rev display functions. They are all in the display panel but not activated. Strange that yours has lit up with an AB 04 code.
The exclamation point flashing is the engine warning light.
As of my knowledge no one has come up with a bypass or delete modification for the emission controls yet.
A few things I have discovered reading on this site are:
Disconnecting the battery for at least a minute then reconnecting will reset the ECU. (I have not done this so not sure if it actually works).
Remove the ground cable where it connects to the frame and clean the contact point then reconnect. Some have had poor ground conditions.
When the engine goes into regen raise the RPM to 2400-2600RPM until complete. The regen process requires higher engine temps to burn off the soot deposits. Running the tractor for extended periods at low RPM and soot not burning off properly can lead to engine going into limp mode.
When operating the tractor these tier 4 engines do not like to run at idle for extended periods, they like to run above 2000 RPM.
If none of the above helps to solve your problem it may require a trip to the dealer to clear and reset the code.
I have just over 200 hours on my XR3037HC (3000 and 4000 series tractors have the same regen cycles) and no problems (Knock on wood) yet.
