LS MT125
Hey y'all - first post -

i've been surfing this forum for a year after buying a 500hr used MT125, with a bunch of implements and trailer for a reasonable price. This last week I blew my first fuse after spot bush-hoggin some sweet gum stands in a pasture. once I was done mowing, came to a stop, cut pto off, shift range from L to H, mash the go pedal, and flip on the cruise control to get back to the barn- right after this, i slid the seat up an inch or so and thats when i blew the fuse- engine died and I walked back to get a meter.
Reading many of the posts here in this forum helped me locate the fuses, and find what blew so many thanks- I swapped a failed 30A for a new 30A, and went about my business for the day, the last task Saturday evening was to mount the 40gal sprayer, and mix to get ready to spray in the AM.

Having done this, i parked back at the barn, and haven't been able to get tractor to turn over since. I have full instrument lights, when i first turn on key switch I can hear a relay click on toward the front of the engine, stays on for maybe a minute or so, then de-energizes. When I turn the key switch from run to start, the coil light comes on, but there doesnt seem to be any power to the starter- no clicking solenoid, no turn over. Every thread here talks about the safety switches, which I fully believe to be a culprit, but for the life of me, cannot find any documentation of locations, types or diags for each...
I have:
- charged battery,
- checked the other fuses i could find (my fuse 'panel' is just 4 fuses hanging behind the left side of cowl),
- checked seat safety for continuity when closed,
- ensured PTO is off
- set park brake is on,
- ensured cruise control is off
- taken hood and L/R/Front cowl off engine to trace wiring

Close inspection of starter has battery POS main lug, with + feed to instrument cluster, a smaller insulated connection to ground maybe with quick connect blade, a heavy + to the Bendix side

To me it seems either the starter solenoid is done, or theres a safety grounding it and preventing crank, but I am out of ideas on where to look.

any tips/tricks/pointers would be greatly appreciated.

When you said “slid the seat up an inch or so and thats when i blew the fuse- engine died” I wonder if you pinched or cut a wire on the seat safety switch or broke the switch itself?

Might be ok when tested, but when you sit in it, it pinches something, or isn’t working properly

Thanks Hey Dude- I am sure there's some truth to that - as stated, its a used tractor and looks like its been cut before - just now while eating lunch - i found this post MT 125 will not start. and for giggles- i jiggled the HST pedals while turning switch to start and it cranked right up...
i feel dumb now.

thanks
