It appears that Land Pride has come out with a new series, and design of rotery cutters for 2011. The unit I am interested in is the RCF2060. They appear to be fairly heavy duty, using 10 ga. steel for construction.. Thicker than my present Woods BrushBull by .030.
I've now had two Woods cutters, and both have been what I consider to be, overly flexible where the gearbox mounts, causing the blades to tear up the deck at every opportunity.
The Adirondacks has no shortage of rocks.. It's said that if it were not for rocks, the Adirondacks would be in a valley... LOL

So, are these new cutters from LP out in dealers' hands yet? Has anyone seen one or have experience using one?
I wish that Land Pride made it easire to contact them to discuss the specifics of their designs. Befco, which is not commonly available in my area, is very interested in customer comments and thoughts, and all too happy to answer questions..

There is a new brush hog in my future. It will not be another Woods, as I consider the design to be lacking for HD usage... I like the look of the Pand Pride's specs, but I need to know more...

Any thoughts or help?

I haven't seen any in person, but looked at them online.

I have been very happy with the durability and performance of my RCR2672 and I use it pretty hard. Land Pride RCR26 Series - 60" & 72" Rotary Cutters

Of course, our Woods dual spindle DS1260 10' has been really good too so far and it has been used beyond its rated capacities.

I don't have to deal with rocks though, so that might change things.

Good luck in your search for a good cutter.

TripleR - That's a beefy looking 72" rotary cutter! I wish I would have gone that route instead of my Deere MX5.

BlacknTan - I had good luck reaching LandPride to discuss a blade(RBT4096) that I ultimately bought from them. It turns out the phone rep had worked on the manufacturing line and new the product in and out. Try them again.

Thank you gentlemen for the help.

Land Pride does not list a phone number on their website. Apparently they want all communication to go through their dealers, or via e-mail.
I called all my local Land Pride dealers yesterday. None of them had the new units in stock, or were even aware that there was a new series of rotary cutters.. Perhaps they're still too new to be on dealers' lots.

Thanks Haoleguy.. The only phone number I can find is for Great Plains Mfg, the parent company. I'll try tomorrow.

Thanks, it has been a really rugged unit.

Here is a picture of our Woods which is also really well built compared to the lighter 121 we used to use.

which one of those cutters gives the best cut in tall grass? the single or the twin? i was wondering if with the twin blade cutter do you still have the problems of the tractor tires pushing the grass down and not being cut like i do on my 6' single.

We get a better cut in tall grass with the twin spindle cutter. We used and still own a Woods 121 which also gave a real good cut, so my assumption is twin spindles tend to do better.

We got the Woods DS1260 because we were cutting some really thick brush and saplings that the 121 was just too light to hold up to.

In weeds, we really can't tell any difference in quality of cut.

I had considered a twin spindle 7' cutter for our L5030, but there are places it wouldn't fit, so I took the 6'.

who makes the 7 foot twin you are talking about? the only one i found was the Bush Hog sq84t.
A 7 foot twin is just what i was looking for since my tractor is 7 foot wide. for but the SQ84t uses the egg shaped stump jumpers and i have had bad luck with those getting bent up.
