I had a BX2200 delivered last week. The dealer checked all fluids and showed me how to attach/detach the mower and loader. He said the trans fluid was a little low and that he'd ship me a gallon of fluid. I specifically asked if it was okay to run. He said it was just a little low and it was okay to begin using it.
Today I added 2.5 quarts to the transmission to reach the full mark. I don't have the book handy, but I think full capacity is 2.6 or 2.7 gallons.
I put about five hours of mowing and loader work on the NEW tractor while the trans fluid was about 20-25% below full.
How much damage could this have done? Should I document this in writing to the dealer and Kubota? Just tell the dealer I want trans fluid and filter so I can do an immediate change?
My first tractor, plan on keeping it 20 years, and it starts with new gears and low fluid! What are the recommendations of the experienced tractor users? Is this BX tough enough to shrug off a hard beginning like this?
