First test with about 900 lbs. on board.
BTW, total cost (including wagon & pressure treated parts, hardware, etc.) was about $235. Steel here in Colorado is about 92 cents/lb.
Non-welders get to pay $74/Hr. with $100 minimum here, so the three hour cutting & drilling time was worth it.

Yes--the 4-in-1 bucket has a pretty high lift capacity for its size and weight. The largest log there is a green 18" dia. 10' long one. Just cut before loading onto wagon.
Even thought the HF wagon is not finely finished, it's a lot better than I can build for 5 times the price. More than one can be hooked together as a 'train'. I'll probably try that if I continue to clear areas of logs this size for wildland fire mitigation.
The logs will be sawed for flooring & misc. posts, etc. That will be a whole new adventure next summer! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Very nice solution to not having a welder. I'm lucky enough to have a light duty unit at work that I can bring home, but for "real" welding I beg my neighbor for help, he owns a full machine shop and lets me play around from time to time.
In the one picture that shows your PowerTrac (I love those things!) it looks like you are working on some fairly uneven ground, do you have a way to attach rubber bungies or some other type of tie down straps to hold the logs on the cart while you are on the slopes/bumps/etc? Or does the weight of the logs pretty much hold them in place?

For the first 2-3 trial trips, the logs stay in place very well.
Using tie-downs to hold them over the rough terrain and then retrieving some of the logs from nearly 100' down the hill (amazing how far they can go through heavy woods!) is what inspired me to make these brackets.

Do you have a Harbor Freight part number for this wagon running gear? I have been unable to find it on their web site.
