A few weeks ago I busted my radiator and had to replace with a new one.
I'm bush hogging some really nasty stuff.... sapplings, briars well over 1" in diameter...this stuff hasn't been touched in years.
Anyway I'm getting it done. This evening noticed so really black leaves I'd spun up. Did I mention I'm going up and down a pretty steep hill? Anyway, hmm those black leaves really looked moist. Interesting. Then I touched the FEL and it flopped down.... Never seen that before... It's getting late and I need to get off the hill. I hit the 3pt lift and nothing happens. Hmmm. I pull the FEL lever and nothing happens... Geeez.
I then see what looks like oil specks on the front tire and I shut down the B7500. Now I'm upset.

I pull the hydro dipstick and nothing. Horse stuff! I put the tractor in neutral and roll backwards off the hill..... When I get in the yard I crawl off and hydro fluid is pouring from the bottom of the tractor. I check the two filters and they are fine, not sticks thru them. Horse stuff!

I go fetch a flash light and start pulling out sticks lodged in the chassis.... ahhhhhhh. There's a tube that's connected by a rubber hose and clamp and a stick had knocked them apart. Wheeeeeeeew.

Well, I guess this week is a good time to change both hydro filters and clean that screen thingy since the hydro is gone....

I'm about done hogging too.

When something like that happens, it suddenly looks like a better deal to rent a unit to do your bushhogging..............

I cut some trash for a buddy with my MMM. Didn't tear anything up, but it took a long time as I was going slow and had to go over it a coupla times. Next time, I plan to rent a walk behind brush cutter and just go nuts!

Best wishes,
Ron

Sounds like things haven't been going your way lately /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Sounds like an easy fix so that's good.

A question I'd be asking myself is:
Hmmm. I've run my HST with little (and then pretty much no) hydraulic fluid. What do I need to do or check for to know if there's any internal damage? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Sorry, I can't help you on this one. Let's hope it's just change the filters and re-fill with UDT and let it bleed.

I'm up and running again. Those darn loaded tires a BEAR to put back on by yourself.... Any hints?

Anyway, while changing both hydro filters and cleaning the screen again I had a problem.

On the left side (PTO lever side) things when on with no problem.
On the right side (lift lever side) I went to instal the new filter and it wouldn't thread on... Did I booger up the threads? They looked fine... Checked the filter it too was fine. Got the old filter and it screws right on.... Hmmmm.
I take out the threaded thing the filter screws onto and it's not damaged at all, both sides thread fine into the tractor and the old filter.
Off to the tractor store... I show the counter person and he gets another filter...same thing, it won't thread.... He looks up the part number again and there's the problem he got me the wrong filter. Got the right filter problem solved.
