In my area they are hard to come by. Does anyone have any suggestions on a new or harvest return TC45DA or 55DA with a good NH FEL? I looked at one *2006 tc45da* today but it had 500 hours and they wanted 28,000 for it with a manual box scraper. That seems high to me.

Considering the models are all changing and its winter, I was expecting the price to be quite a bit lower.

I'm just wondering if a new purchase out of state from a larger dealer may be more practical even with shipping costs.

Any suggestions would be great.

Thanks

It would be helpful to let us know where you are located.

You could also look for the CaseIH DX45 and DX55. Same base tractors only in Red. The main difference will be the lights and light switches. Having both the red and blue versions gives you more dealers to look at.
That 28k price is what I found for still new on the lot 2006 DX55's with FEL, brush guards, rear remotes added, etc. Southern Ca could be higher though.

It sounds high to me too, way high. A fair deal would be in the low $20k range and a great deal below $20k. I think having a new tractor warranty is worth $2500. That tractor's warranty is gone or going away very fast.

In california the dealers make a huge amount of money in rentals for harvest for the stonefruit and grapes. When the harvest is done, the growers turn in the tractors and they normally have less than 100 hours on em. 500 plus hours on a 2006 means it was run every day for a few hours at least. Since the dealer added the FEL, the tractor pulled something all day long; maybe a tiller, or a 3 in 1 conditioner, or who knows what.........but im thinking it was hard work on the hydro, due to the hot weather in this area, and torque on the engine and rear end.

The huge question is the hydro cuplings in the back. 2 valves=1 remote??? ie for a scraper, it would be for hydro teeth and the pitch or would there be 2 more for up and down? i would think the PTO would take care of that issue.

The unit has 6 couplers on the rear=3 shuttles??? but they look new, never used, the cylinder quick connect has no scratches and is shiny.

From looking at comps Id say the unit is worth no more than 21k with the new 16LA FEL and mechanical box scraper on the back..........I would throw that away, since a mechanical box scraper is useless, your knuckles would be shredded dropping the teeth, or changing the pitch for every change you wanted to do........esp. since the unit has the hydro shuttle valves in the back. So..............given this time of year, when theres little to choose Im stuck.......Id like a 40 to 48DA with a hydro trannie, due to the picky work i will be doing with the FEL......but I can tell you, the dealers just don't seem to want to sell units. I talked to one and he said that the MSRP on that unit NEW would be about 28k with 2 rear remotes, a hydraulic scraper and an FEL.

Ive seen some nice units out of state but Ive not found a decent quote for shipping; they all want $2500 to ship whats nothing more than the same as a 4x4 Dodge Truck......

Its a learning experience but darn if its not frustrating. Not to mention that a dealer north of me said "We do not sell hydros, period, due to the heat, they dont stand up" I still would prefer one due to the loader and use I plan for the unit.

One question; how does one find the MSRP and prices on a particular model online? is there any resources out there? Id like to know im not paying more than a new model for a very used 2006.

Thanks for all your help.

That's right. The unit you looked at is priced higher than new. The dealer you talked to who told you that is a straight shooter. His price on a new tractor with FEL and a quality hydraulic boxblade is good.

Prices currently available on the internet are old (over 4 years). I would not want you to rely on them for accuracy. Essentially, a TC45DA with NH FEL and three remote valves would be $26k to $27k depending on manufacturer deals and rebates at the time. Don't forget to check finance rates when making comparisons. A tractor for $28k and 0% for two years is a far better deal than a tractor for $26k and 6.9% for three years.

Each remote valve on a TC45 is about $525-$550. Three remotes will add about $1600 to the total price. Each remote has two quick-connects, so if you saw 6 outlets on the tractor, that would be three remotes. On the right side of the operator's platform, there should be a 3PH lift and 3 other levers in addition to the FEL joystick.

Also note that the TC45DA is the biggest New Holland HST(currrently). The TC55DA and TC48DA have an EHSS, which I haven't used.

Thanks Jim,

The problem is the TC series is being replaced, so there isnt much supply, if any. Most of the dealers don't even know when the new models will arrive. Some say February 2008 some say June. Most don't really even want to carry the TC lines anymore due to the slow sales mostly due to the cheapo chinese and other off named tractors flooding the market now.

Im still looking for a new or harvest return TC45DA with super steer and hydro with an FEL and at least 2 rear remotes.....I've seen a few on the east coast but can't get a car carrier convinced that the tractor is no more to haul than a Dodge Ram Truck.......and they want huge money for shipping.

One thing to report, ALL the NH dealers say the same thing: the model change and number changes are a huge mistake by NH and they are sick of all the changes NH plays on dealers and customers.........

Im so fed up I may just go John Deere due to all the nonsense with NH.

I called the dealer and sent them 6 comps with adjustments and their tractor with 500 plus hours on it is worth no more than $20k to me, and I offered them cash for it. For some reason I don't really think they want to sell anything LOL.

I think you should look in the Tex-Okla-Kan corridor and surrounding states. My dealer in Decatur, TX has 4 or 5 new Class III TCs on his lot. They may not be TC45s, but you will get just as much tractor buying the TC40DA. The TC45DA is no advantage except at the PTO. All other functions have exactly the same specifications as the TC40DA. When you consider that they want $2000 for approximately 4 extra PT0 hp, it even further underscores that the difference in those tractors is most significant in price only. In 2001, I paid $21,900 for my TC45D with a 16LA loader and one rear remote. If I had bought a TC40D, I would have had enough left over to buy a really nice implement. You won't get that kind of price today with the increases in steel prices and fuel making transportation much more expensive. Even so, if you are interested in paying shipping that is less than from the east coast, I would look at the mid-US corridor as a possible tractor source, especially for a new tractor.
