I have a 14k capacity car/equipment style trailer.

I am looking to build some new ramps, as the original ones were stolen !

Anyone have some pics ?

My old ramps were the "carry in the truck type" ... HD aluminum 10,000 lb rated....but still heavy.

The trailer has two tabs on either side, with a steel 1" bar in between. This time, I want to build some flip up, 'stay on trailer' style ramps.

Thanks !

My 14,000-pound flatbed trailer has the fold up type. The dump trailer has the type that connect to flatbar welded to the back of the trailer.

My ramps are similar to Shield Arcs but made out of 2" square tube with 2" angle cross members. The leg going down is 3" channel. I would hazard a guess that Shield Arc didn't build his ramps. The leg is important as it prevents lifting force on the coupler. I loaded my skid steer on someones else's car trailer with slide out ramps and it lifted the back off his pathfinder 2' in the air! He normally carries a car behind his motorhome but helped me move my old skid steer cause I didn't have a trailer at the time. I've used my ramps off the trailer to get up a concrete retaining wall about 18" high.

Can you remove that 1" bar? If so my trailer has flip up style ramps that can lay flat on the trailer. It has one long bar that goes the width of the trailer and is supported in the center and ends. Connected to it is what looks kind of like a single link of chain and the ramps have two tabs with holes in them and a bar that connects the chain link to the ramps. The ramps have legs on them. The links allow the ramps to lay flat when on the deck and to self level if the ground is uneven.

It's hard to build a trailer cheaper than you can buy one already made. Unfortunately sometimes they aren't built as nice as you would have built your own.

I built mine out of 4" channel iron 5' long with 1" angle every 4". They do slide in but would be easy to lock in place. Here's a pic during the trailer re-build.
