Looking for my first tractor....

Hi... I'm currently looking to buy my first tractor, a used compact in the 25-35 hp range... I've spent a lot of time looking on Craigslist, equipmentfinder, tractorhouse, etc and I'm not having much success finding many that are remotely close to me... I looked at one in Ft Pierce (30 miles) but that's about it... I talked to a couple of dealers (New Holland & JD) in Ft Pierce and left my name and number... nothing so far... not sure if I'm searching on the Web correctly but I'm having trouble finding dealers... I found a couple in Hastings/Bunnell that seem to have several available but that's 3 1/2 hours away... does anyone have a suggestion or know of dealers that might be closer, I live in Vero Beach??? Thanks...

You have 4 dealers within 70 miles. All Everglades Farm Equipment. Ft. Pierce, OKEECHOBEE , LOXAHATCHEE, ELLE GLADE. John Deere Home Page Redirect I also use Used Farm & Agricultural Equipment - John Deere MachineFinder to find what looking for, also where used tractors are located. Sometimes your local dealer can work with another dealer in the area or one at one of their other location stores that might have one your looking for. I have a 2520, nice for all around use. (25hp). couldn't find used, ended up buying new. The 25 to 45hp. is a hot item on used market.

I find most of what I am looking for on CL and E-bay as well as the ones you are checking. Try one of the Cl searches for the entire state of FL and work it down to a distance you are comfortable with. I've found that my local JD dealer doesn't take very much on trade but know who might want to sell something. You will want to make visit to the dealers, not just phone calls so they know you are serious and not just a shopping phone number. Sit down with their salesman and discuss exactly what you are looking for. They may help you narrow that down.
