I dug a post hole yesterday, then drove my JD 850 (Yanmar) up 4 feet--bucket was empty, so no weight on the front end--and darned if my left from wheel didn't just fall right off! I was glad to be in the pasture on level ground and not in some of the spots I get into on the farm here.... The shaft comeing out of the front gearbox snapped right off.
So, the part search is on! JD has the part listed as a Front Hub Shaft and part number is CH14696 but they have it listed as obsolete and can't get it. I checked with Hoye tractor where I have had good luck getting all kinds of parts for this 850, and they have the part listed on the website, but when I called they don't have it in stock and are not sure about getting restocked. I have one possible from a tractor boneyard but it'll take a couple of days from them to get back to me to see if they have it. In the mean time...
Does anyone know of a junk yard or other supplier who might have this part so I can cast a wider net? I've done a little searching on the interwebs but figured I'd also go ahead and put the question out here while I'm digging around.
Any leads appreciated.
