I am still in the process of trying to get a tractor. This forum has been a valuable source of information, and I am requesting comments to help steer me towards "tractor bliss". I had narrowed my choices to the above tractors or the Kubota L3430. The Kubota is having availability issues in my area, so I am going w/ the NH.

I am trying to decide between the above tractors, and have driven both. I am planning on the HST and 4308 or 16LA loader. I like the 35's pedals for the HST (along w/ the brake pedals on the opposite side). I am up in the air about the supersteer option.

Any negatives or positives regarding these tractors is appreciated. For example, does anyone w/ a class II wish they had gotten a class III? Is the supersteer option really useful? If you have one of these models and regretted anything, what would it be?

Are there any options I should get put on the tractor, ie extra hydraulic valve, toothbar for the loader, etc?

I like the TC33D, but am concerned about the FEL capacity, 3pt hitch lift capacity, and seemingly light weight. I do not plan on utilizing a MMM, but will use the tractor for moderate clearing, moving dirt, maintaining my drive, rough cutting a couple of acres, and finish mowing a couple of acres.

Thanks in advance for your comments.

Ernie,

I will try and answer your questions the best I can. FYI I have the TC29D with Super-Steer.

Super-steer is great for mowing around things and in tight corners. But that is really it. In my opinion it can be a hinderance when using the FEL because of the front axle shifting. You wheel base is not as large, kind of like having a narrow front end but not quite. So you have to answer your own question. If your going to do more mowing than FEL work and your mowing is around lots of trees then get it. But if your primary source is FEL work then don't get it. Also, your post leads me to believe you would be using a RFM. I don't think super-steer will do you any justice with a RFM. It works really well with the MMM.

As far as the TC33D and the TC35D. Again if your going to do more mowing than FEL work then I would stay with the 33 because you are at a point where the tractor is getting to heavy to not do damage to your lawn. If it is mostly FEL then get the 35.

No doubt the 16LA is a much better loader but if you are going to do just general work the 7308 will handle it just fine. I have the 7308 and it does everything I ask of it. But I am not on a farm where I use it everyday. I move dirt and lots of snow and occassional use around the house instead of using the wheel borrow. New Holland has been using the 7308 for a long time now and has been successful with the 7308.

The 3 point hitch lift capacity. I would not let that worry you at all. There was a previous discussion about that and the New Holland has the capacity to lift just about anything. If you lift anymore than what the rated capacity of the New Holland is with just about any of the Cut's you would lift the front end off the ground.

Hope this helps you.

I agree with murph. It all depends on what you are wanting to do with your tractor. I recently purchased a 33D hydro w/ss 7308 FEL and 60inch MMM with R4 tires. It is the ultimate mowing machine. I mowed around tress and shrubery as close as you would with a push mower and in no time at all I was finished. The R4 tires did not track up my yard even though it is newly established lawn (sown last fall) and we have had a very wet spring here. THe FEL works great, but you have to get use to it shifting somewaht with the SS option. Not a problem unless you are working in some tight places. The 35D is quite a bit heavier and probably would not be as good a choice for mowing. Just my 2 cents worth.

Good Luck
