In the winter, ABSOLUTELY!

If you go to get one, watch the height of the windshield (plexiglass part). They normally come with around a 12" shield (which is what mine came with). That doesn't work well because it takes all the wind and dumps it right on your face. I bought a 16" or so (as pictured). When looking ahead, the top is just about at eye level. The wind hits the top of the head. Nice in summer. For the winter, I just duck a little (unless the helmet is on in which case it doesn't matter).

I built the same rig but added some snatch blocks to direct the winch line. It seems to work fine. A welding/machine shop can roll the sheet steel for the blade. All told it cost me about $250 cdn for mine.
