I recently purchased a Bobcat CT445 and am looking at different mowers. I was quoted $2450 for a Buhler 84" and was wondering what are the thoughts on this mower.
I currently use an old Woods RM59 behind my ol"8N and really would like a bigger mower as I have LOTS of grass to cut. I have a grass landing strip and a big yard/field I like to keep cut.
Any other ideas as to what brand of mower I can get that will last?
Thanks,
WW

I am completely satisfied with my First Choice GM35-84. See First Choice Equipment . I'm not sure my 30 PTO hp tractor could handle it, never tried. But it works just fine behind my other tractor (39 PTO hp)

You are getting a rear discharge which I feel are the best and maybe mandatory in the 84" and bigger mowers. I have a 84" rhino and only one minor complaint. It does have only 1 belt. Some of the 84" mowers have 2 belts. I can smoke the belt if I mow backwards in heavy grass. I use a JD 3720 with 44 engine hp and the tractor can slip the belt without slowing down the engine mowing in reverse. Mowing forward, I have never had an issue. Tall grass will require mowing twice to get nice cut, but that has been true for every mower I have had.

How about the King Kutter mowers? The local Fleet Farm carries them and are usually fairly reasonable in their pricing.

KIOTI has 84" mower decks. Besides the color, it would be a good match for your 445.

BEFCO also has 84" mower decks.

Both the KIOTI (sicma) and the BEFCO are dual belt decks. The KIOTI has stamped pulleys, the BEFCO has cast pulleys. Both are very good cutting decks.

Greg, curious about the First choice mower.

Blades look like they over lap each other a little, do they ?

If so, standard belt drive or how do they keep in timed ?

"First Choice" are also Sicma Decks and Tillers.

Nope. Must be just the angle at which the photo was taken. No overlap, just very close tolerances. Even if you'd bend a blade by hitting something, it would only get shorter. So I see blades striking each other as a non-issue.
