thanks guys! i was researching prices and holy moly! have the prices gone up for new. At this point I will be looking at used. Most likely a Steiner 430. Is there a preferred motor for the 430? I think I read somewhere the diesel wasnt preferred (underpowered)? Not sure...

I agree with the 72" v 60", my only concern is the uneveness of the lot. But a good point to ponder!

Any difference in mower deck between new and old? ie. newer decks make for a better cut? The slip up deck is a nice option for storage and maintenance.

I agree ,go with a steiner or ventrac...don't worry about the uneven terrain eVen with the 72" deck you can cut low at 2" and not scalp ,both steiner and ventrac decks cut great and will stripe great.i prefer the ventrac decks personally but they are both great...
