Looking for advice on buying Kubota B 7300

I am looking for some advice on purchasing a used Kubota B 7300 3 cylinder diesel work horse 16 hp compact tractor. It is priced at $8,595 with 580 hrs logged on it. It comes with a Kubota Bucket loader on front and an afterrmarket box blade on rear. He says it was never used commercially, only used at home. He says it is 4x4 hydrostatic with PTO mid and rear. Now i think i have an idea of what that means but im not going to waist anyones time trying to explain my version of it. Im new to tractors and dont know what alot of these abbreviations are that people use to describe their tractor. So if anyone could possibly help me by explaining what the whole hydrostatic with PTO mid and rear means. Also does that mean that it is 4x4? I assume it does but i have been wrong before. Another thing does anyone have +'s or -'s on the tractor. Goods and bads, weak pionts and strong points. Is the price too high too low or about right. Im looking to do all kinds of task with the tractor which includes me buying a rear mount mower and a back hoe. Its located near raleigh, NC if the location has any effect on the pricing. It would be a great help if anyone could give me some info on this tractor. Thanks

Dave Welcome to TBN. Not sure about that model Kubota but PTO mid and rear (Power take off) This means the tractor is equipped to be able to operate machinery (attachments) that require power to operate. For example a mid PTO is used to operate a mid mount mower (mmm). This is a mower deck that attaches under the tractor which hooks up to the mid PTO which essentially turns the blades. The rear PTO is the same concept but used much more for implements like rear mowers, brush cutters, wood chippers, etc... This has nothing to do w/ a tractor being 4x4. As far as if this is a good fit for you how much land will you be mowing and how much land will you be maintaining, and what tasks does that incur?

i really appreciate yalls help. i will be doing some work on duck impounds which i will get a back hoe to help with that. other than that i will be doing some bush hogging with it. large vacant lots. 6 to 8 acres of mowing. i will also be using it for just the usual around the house chores. moving rocks, dirt, ect... probably use the box blade for managing some roads on a plot of land where we hunt.

another question the hydrostatic drive. if i understand correctly that means its opperated by pedal and has no gears? is this correct? if so is that a good thing or bad thing? or is it good in some scenarios and bad in others?

Yes you are correct no gears w/ Hydro. The 2 tractors I have owned have been hydro so I have no expirence w/ gear tractors. I have done a lot of reading about it though and it seems most prefer the hydro over gear especially when doing loader/grading work etc... One thing to remember is to mow 6-8 acres w/ the tractor you are considering is going to take a long time. Also do you know what your lifting capacity will be w/ your FEL (loader) this is something else to look into to make sure it will be big enough for the chores you have at hand. Personally if I had this type of work you mention to do on 6-8 acres I would be looking at a bigger, more Horse powered tractor.
