Just bought a new Kioti DK50 SE. What is the proper size rear attach snowblower and any recommendations on manufacturers/models? It will not be used commercially just on our farm.

Thanks

I've used a 75" Meteor on my DK35 for the last several years and it works great. They are priced in the middle of the road as far as blowers go. My guess is with a 50 hp tractor you can use something in the 90+ inch range.

Welcome to TBN
You should add your location as that helps with pertinant answers.

The most important thing is that the blower be wider than your wheels.

Next you want 4 bladed impeller, and the wider diameter the better the performance (throws farther).
No matter how wide, you will still need 2 passes so even a 6 ft blower is good.
With 50 hp and 6 ft in most cases you will always be able to take full gulps while wider might have you skimming the top layer first with a second pass in deeper snow situations.

Naturally your area might differ.
In average 4-6 inch events, then wide is not a problem but if you often have 16-24 inch events with drifting you might prefer narrower.

Again gear driven limits choices vs hydrostatic as with the latter you can creep into deep snows slowly while gear drive always takes the same gulp and with wider blowers you would be doing lots of lifting and lowering the blower to control the gulps, therfore a gear drive would for sure be better off narrower.
(Is the DK50 hydro or gear)

I would suggest avoiding blowers that have a gearbox in center of the augershaft in favor of those that use chain and sprocked drive from the end of the auger shaft as repair-maintainance is much more cost effective and generally those types are more rugged.

The wider diameter 4 bladed impellors tend to clog less with wet snows than 3 blades and narrow diameters.

Thanks. I'm 2 hours north of Toronto Ontario, and yes we get alot of snow. The tractor does have HST.

I bought a used JD 676 rear mount blower,,,,works great,,,behind the dk45hst. Make sure the blower is the same width or wider than your tractor. The HST makes using any blower much easier as the unlimited speeds help match what type of snow load is being placed on the blower and tractor.
