I'm looking for a new 7000 lb, 18ft wood deck car hauler for under $2000 in the New England Area. Does anyone have any suggestions? Any dealers/ brands that are favorable among the members? Thanks!

If you want a 7000lb, wood deck 18' trailer with 82" between the fenders they are very hard to come by for under 2K in the new england area. I don't know what it is about the northeast but trailer prices are high here. I do assume you are talking about a new trailer. I'm sure you could find a used one for around that price.

I recently saw another post where a dealer in NC sells a 20' 14k rated trailer for just under 3K. Same thing up here sells for close to 5k or more. I bought a 7k, 20' tilt bed, wood deck, w/ 82" between removable fenders but had to drive to PA to get it for a decent price. Several dealers in NY had what I wanted but they wanted close to 5k. I bought mine for under 3500. Same dealer has a model like you want. It's an 8.5 x 18' wood deck HD flatbed for $2470. I don't know if you want to drive that far but check out H&H trailer sales web site. They have all sorts of models but the closest dealer is in PA. I like mine a lot.

You north guys get the shaft. I bought 18' trailer here in Indiana in 2004 for $860. It had used tires, wood deck, 5' ramps, spare tire, and brakes on one axle. I have since put on new tires. I am guessing one like that now would sell for about $1300 or so in this area.

I saw some around the Ohio area for around $1800 so I though that was pretty fair. LOTS of them on Fleabay in the south. But I'd rather not spend $1000 in gas to save a $1000.

Funny thing is that the few dealers that I can find here, will not call me back with a price. I'm looking around here first to save on the gas but also to give the local guys a chance. Downeaster in Maine builds trailers and I though about going with them since they build some other quality product. Can't find a dealer that feels like making a sale though. Funny - I thought the economy was bad?

There's a used one close by on Craigslist, but he's got a winch on it that I don't really need and the price is a little bit high. I might bite if I knew what the local prices of new units are.

Thanks for the info George. I'll check them out. PA is a decent ride from Mass, but doable.

Take a look at Harvey Trailers in Bangor, ME. Yeah, it's a haul from me in southern NH so it will be more of a haul for you but when we picked up our brand new 2 place covered snowmobile trailer from them, it was top notch high quality and had every option the others charged for. The prices are tough to beat and the product is top of the line.

I will hopefully be picking up a 5-ton equipment trailer ($2695) from them soon. The car haulers start at $2195.
