looking for 445 transmission

In the market for a good transmission for a 90's model 445 Jd mower or a mower with a blown engine or parts in the KY area.

Check on eBay, as there have been some for sale there in the recent past.

What happened for the tranny to go bad? And assume it is not fixable?

Not fixable bearing ate into housing shavings everywhere 13years old gears worn some with broken teeth. And the JD dealer wants $4800 for a new one. Green cost alot.

I have a 99 425 with about 500 hours. Engine burned. $1500.00 or reasonable offer.

I believe the 425, 445 and 455 all share the same drive train. 445 and 455 had bigger tires. All attachments were interchangable.

I know this was a while ago, but do you still have that 425 Transmission?
