I work at the local Kubota dealer, while I would love a new BX24 or a BX15, I dont have the spare 5K+ laying around to get one. However, we had a decent, but rattly looking B7100, 2wd HST with a 72" MMM on it. The deck runs real quiet. Tractor runs well with minimal blow by out the breather tube. After I put a new battery in it, it started much easier. My price would be $3100 with the mower deck. From the ones I see on ebay, I think thats a fair price, espicaly if I dont have to drive hundreds of miles to pick it up. It also helps that I can keep it up there in the back lot while I tend to some of its issues. The biggest one to me is that I cannot stand having the muffler horizontal. Bringing it to the upright position is a problem as all 4 nuts and studs are solid, pitted rust. Not a chance of breaking them loose. I know I can get a new manifold via the internet for $52 bucks, havent priced work yet. Then I would get the extension pipe with turnout on top for it. Second is every single swivel ball in the 3pt is frozen from lack of use. They got soaked in penetrating oil today, at the worst, I would need to replace the two lower arms and connecting links, all avaible from the local Rural King store. Tires are all turfs, rears look super nice, fronts are decent. Steering is very easy to turn as well. With a fresh paint job it would be a sharp looking older Kubota. I am taking my restored and option loaded Cub Cadet 982 SGT up and see what they will do for a trade. I know the owner has been on the boss about the ratty looking used stuff just sitting around. My 982 is clean and freshly painted! I will know more by tomorrow afternoon, I have to work till 8-1 tomorrow as its my Saturday to work. While I have absolutly no need for a Kubota of this size, I like it and it opens up doors for odd jobs that I like to do. Our yard can be mowed with my wifes 582 cub cadet with a 44" mower deck in like 30min. I just like having a larger tractor around for chores and odd jobs, I would probably pull the mower deck and prop it up next to the shed under the lean to. Cheers Mike

That tractor would be very nice for mowing. It may be a little shy for pulling with only two wheel drive.:D

If you were only planning on using the midmount mower you would probably be ok with only 2wd. But if you intend to do alot of pulling you might have wished you had the 4wd. Mine is in 4wd all the time unless on pavement of course. I really think with a small tractor like the b7100 you really are better off with the 4wd in most situations.

My dad's got a B7100HST 2wd with a belly mower and it works great! It's a much better mowing tractor than my B6100E. I like the mid mount mowers better. Having one haging off the back, i'm constantly turning around, spilling my beer trying to see where the mower's at, then overcorrecting tryign to get it straightened back up.
