I may go look at a used B2630 w/FEL tomorrow. The tractor is one year old, seller is asking $14,000.

I plan to use for brush hogging aprox 5-10 acres and clearing another 5 acres of cedar trees apporx. 10 - 12 ft. tall. Eventually put in couple of acres of blueberries and/or grapes. The terrain is level and hilly.

Would this be a good tractor for the job and what is the max. size brush hog it could handle?

Thanks...Dennis

It can handle a 5' light duty hog (the cedar trees may present a problem).

Price seems high. MSRP new would be ~$17K. Typically see 5-15% off when buying new. Also you can get low or no interest loans on the new tractor. Used equipment is much more expensive to finance (unless you do a home equity loan, or have cash in hand).

The extra four horse power on the B3030 would come in handy on that brush hog. The 2630 shines where you don't have the hills or heavy PTO use, sounds like you do.

I believe you can get a new B2630 with R4's and FEL in the low 15's. New is nice, factory financing (0% for 36 months), complete warranty, dealer support and no mystery history....

There's another thread here about a guy selling a year old B2630 for about the same price ($14100).

If it is not the same tractor that you are going to look at then it sound like one proof point for price.

For the work you posted, Dennis, I'd be looking at an L2800/L3400 or a NH TC30/1520....something that could handle a 5' hog with a degree of comfort.

The larger wheels/tires on the L-series will be much more comfortable for you as well. If you're bouncing around in the seat, you won't be able to go very fast. That 10 acres could take a long time on a tractor that's too small.

I don't know your conditions exactly but I think you need industrial tires and a loader for sure with that tractor. You would be able to mow five acres in a little over two hours or so depending on trim area.
