I have a long 445 tractor, that the shifter knob slips off of the shifter forks, inside the transmission,& requires removal of the shifter plate, & then to place the shifter lower end( ball), back in the middle fork,& it will, then stay in whatever gear,you place it in, untill you go to change gears,7 then its off again.Some of the shifter detent bearings are loose inside, but not sure if that is causing the problem. Ive been told to build up the shifter knob bulb , with a welder. Any suggestions?.
