I have a 1997 Long 2610. It's 64 hp. Paid $13,500 for it new in 97. The tractor you're looking at around here would sell for 5-6 thousand if it's in good condition today. Less if it needed work or looked to be in rough shape. With a loader, add about $2,000 to $2,500 if it's in good condition.
The Long engines are very reliable. Neighbor beside me has a 78 model(I think it's a 510) and it still runs very well. He pulls a round baler and does all his haying with the tractor. That tractor has about 4,000 hrs. now.
I hay about 60 acres per year with mine. It's been very reliable. Only parts I've replaced was the primary fuel lift pump(under warranty) and an alternator. The Longs are a simple utility tractor without the bells a whistles.
For parts. Go to the Farmtrac web site. Open the dealer look up page. Enter your zip code and it'll show you the Farmtrac dealers. If you have one close by call the dealer and ask if he can supply you with parts. I've never had a problem getting parts for mine. My dealer is 24 miles from me and we're not that far from Tarboro either. So if he doesn't have a part in stock it will come next day air. Any Farmtrac dealer should be able to get parts for you.
I was about to buy a second Long about the time Farmtrac bought Long out. Farmtrac offered a model with more HP so I bought that.
Three point lift cap. on the Long isn't very strong. I think the 2610 will lift about 2,600 lb (may be less). The Farmtrac will lift about 5,200 lb. So I use the Farmtrac with the heavy implements that weigh over 1,400.
